Microinsurance Innovation Facility (MIF)

Housed at the International Labour Organization (ILO), the Microinsurance Innovation Facility seeks to increase the availability of quality insurance for the developing world’s low-income families to help them guard against risk and overcome poverty. Concretely the Facility provides grants to microinsurance providers and delivery channels, supports the development of their capacities, works with a wide range of partners to document the experiences on the ground, publishes and disseminates good practices and lessons learnt, and works to enable a dynamic dialogue amongst the different players. The Facility expects the result of this work to contribute to help millions of low-income people make informed choices on how to manage risk and gain access to a wider range of insurance products that provide better value for money. The ILO is sponsor of the Initiative.

Microinsurance Network (MIN)

The Microinsurance Network is a member-based network of donor organisations, multilateral agencies, insurance and social protection providers, policymakers and academics. It provides a platform for information sharing and stakeholder coordination with the aim to promote the development and proliferation of insurance products for low-income persons. The Microinsurance Network is a main partner of the Initiative.
