Expert Round Table on "G-20 Financial Inclusion Process"

40 senior insurance supervisors from IAIS member jurisdictions, select industry and development experts and members of the Subgroup on Access through Innovation (ATISG) to the G20 Financial Inclusion Expert Group met in Berlin on May 4 at this Expert Round Table. The Round Table was organised by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) and the Access to Insurance Initiative.
The Round Table was a high level dialogue forum, for exclusive interaction among members of the G20 ATISG, insurance supervisors from IAIS member jurisdictions and distinguished experts. It provided participants an opportunity to follow the current discussions under the G-20 process on financial inclusion and to exchange ideas on how the IAIS as the international standard setter for insurance supervision world-wide can best contribute in fulfilling the G-20 commitment to improve financial access, with special reference to insurance.
